Boeing has defended the quality and safety testing on its 787 Dreamliner and 777 aircraft following allegations by a whistleblower. The whistleblower claimed that Boeing had taken shortcuts in production, potentially reducing the planes’ lifespans. However, Boeing denied the allegations and emphasized the safety of the planes. The allegations will be discussed at a Senate hearing on aircraft safety. This comes as Boeing faces scrutiny after an incident involving a 737 Max plane in which a door plug blew out. The Federal Aviation Administration has since restricted Boeing from increasing production of the plane.
